a99kitten's Musings

I blog about a WHOLE LOT of stuff :)

This is excellently creative!

I think they should be made into flash cards so I can teach my kids (the huskies are very smart!) their ABCs AND to appreciate and love Star Wars from an early age. The Millennium Falcon hanging overhead, soundtrack on constant loop and the posters on the walls *might* not be enough  :)

These were found on Flickr..they were created by tweedlebop.

I’ve been wanting this bag since I first saw it in an email I received from bagborroworsteal.com.  But it seems quite hard to find in this color. Also, I wasn’t sure what the color would look like in real life. Not pink enough? Well, this weekend I saw it at Bloomingdale’s and LOVED it. So yummy.

There are a couple being sold on eBay for less than the retail price of $458 (which is silly in my opinion for a Coach bag.) I’ll keep my eye on them…

I bought the Sideshow Exclusive Dejarik Holochess Set back in 2007 when it was released. I felt that it fell into my Han, Leia and Chewie collectibles-only rule since Chewie played it on the Falcon :)

This was a great scene in Star Wars. We get a good glimpse into Han and Chewie. Plus we learn Wookies like to pull people’s arms out of their sockets when the lose and how droids can adapt to new strategies :)

When I received it, I put it away in my closet. I had “kind of” run out of display room in both my home and work offices. But I did a little re-organizing this weekend and decided it was time to dust the box off and display it! Silly to spend money on cool collectibles to then pack them away unseen.

So I took some items from my office shelf home to be displayed there (with other similar items – all Code 3 3-D posters) and brought this in to the office.  It’s very cool. The little character/pieces are each described on the box:

Kintan Strider
Ghhhk
Mantellian Savrip
Monnok
K’lor’slug
Houjix
Grimtaash
Ng’ok

Plus there are 2 that aren’t named on the box??

Dare to remember all of these for Star Wars Trivial Pursuit ;-)

It’s all set up in my office now (with Indy watching over!) Just waiting for a Wookie to come and play a game with me! :)

….but they were such a good deal! AND, they are called “Mischief”. Come on – totally meant for me!!

3.5″ heel is a bit low for me but I’ll work with it :) And seriously, $24.99 plus shipping. That actually falls in the “FREE” department…

A friend sent me this saying he thought it was fitting for my blog with my obvious love of shoes :)

There are many unsolved mysteries in the world—Stonehenge, the final resting place of Jimmy Hoffa, the Hodge conjecture, and why when cows laugh, milk doesn’t come out of their noses. Still, these mysteries are shared irrespective of gender. Only a precious few mysteries exhibit gender bias, where one sex simply cannot fathom what appears so obvious to the other.

Near the top of this list is man’s seemingly complete inability to understand women’s love of shoes. And I mean LOVE, love. I mean, “helloooo lover” love. Make no mistake, men understand women love shoes—black shoes, pink shoes, peep toe pumps, espadrilles, mary janes, pumps, ballet flats, sandals, stilettos, flip-flops, wedges, strappy high heels, and boots (ok, these fascinate most men as well, btw, although likely for different reasons). For every significant other with whom a women shares a closet or apartment or house, however, stands a man baffled by the mystery that is this love affair.

To enable us to nod politely at each other in quiet recognition the next time the conversation turns to shoes, let me put this love of shoes into terms only a man could fully understand. This new knowledge will be shared for generations and someday used for good. Simply put, women love shoes the same way men love women. To understand women’s love of shoes, men simply need to know the greatness of women’s shoes parallels the potential of women at their greatest:

– You can choose one for any occasion
– They come in different heights and colors to suit your needs
– They would support your every move
– They would be soft where you want them to be and firm in all the right places
– They would never step out without you
– You could have a lot of them without significant consequence
– They would ask for little except to be worn out through a day of hard pounding
– The slightest of bad odors would perfectly match your own
– Any disease they would give you, you gave first
– Their adornment in jewels would both heighten their beauty and your class
– Even if you walk all over them, they would still sit by your bedside and be ready for you the next day
– Even when flat, they rock that look
– You could use the nickname F Me Pumps and everyone would understand
– You could get multiple pairs in a single day
– They would often reveal just enough to intrigue you…. to titillate….
– You would know exactly how much they’ll cost you
– They would often come in leather
– When not seen for a long time, they would give you renewed hope and wonder when you do gaze upon them again, offering to be there when the time (and outfit) is right
– If one wore out, you could easily get another
– YOU could choose how tight or loose the grip they get to have on you
– They don’t care if you are with others; they’ll be at home waiting for their turn
– They have depth and texture that invites you in but can only be truly seen when close
– They come as twins—standard

While non-exhaustive (and feel free to add to the list), I’m sure men around the world can feel a little bit more at ease understanding that much more easily women’s fascination with shoes. Now, Hoffa’s shoes? I’m guessing cement….

Would you just drop the dang price already?!?! Or are you waiting for AAPL to officially announce their “iPad”? Sigh….

As I was reading “Breaking Dawn” in bed last night I realized I think I *really* do want a Kindle. I have big, heavy books (have you tried to read Atlas Shrugged using 1 hand to hold it up??) And if I want to keep as much of me snuggled warm under the covers, it’s hard to hold a big, heavy book with one hand and turn pages. I almost had to break out the Snuggie ;)

And since it seems like it will be a while before a color screen version of an e-reader comes out, that will display comics and graphics novels (unless the Apple iPad does?), I want to go ahead and get the less expensive Kindle 2 while waiting for a color screen with comic titles available (I assume it will be well over a year away for a Kindle version.)

And Apple will price their e-reader WAY too high. And the bits and pieces I’ve gleaned off the web describe it as a device needing a monthly subscription fee from a carrier – say wha? No thanks. But then, it is just speculation and gossip right now so who knows.

BUT…what if Apple does release the iPad and then Amazon doesn’t want to stay in the e-reader hardware business so it doesn’t keep working on a color version?? They already allow Apple to offer the Kindle iPhone app so what if they just phase out the Kindle hardware and allow Apple to take over the market? Hmmm…

I think I might be over-thinking this…

So I am impatiently waiting in hopes that Amazon will lower their Kindle 2 price a bit…and also why I chose for any revenue off my AMZN links to be paid to me in AMZN gift cards :)

Husband said maybe Santa will bring it to me. I am SO not waiting for Santa on this one…and really…Santa should be mining diamonds for my gifts :)

Gorgeous shoe…and a bargain at Neiman Marcus or Saks :)

Now I want to go dancing! :)

Ok, so my friend Lydia and I were critiquing this video while we were in the Juniors section of Macy’s yesterday. I was buying some tank tops, the salesgirl was hopelessly retarded, it was taking forever…and so were started watching the LOUD music and videos they pipe in….

We were making fun of the video as they were playing it as it sounded (before we turned around and saw it) like some Usher-ish music…(not typically my cup of tea) and we turned around and saw the video and it’s a teeny-tiny white kid! So then I instantly thought of him as my little brother or something and the little girls in the video who were hitting on him were instantly little dirty whores! (I’m protective of my little brother..)

By the end of the video we were humming the tune even though I HATE this kind of music. DOH!!! Same thing happened with Twilight…went with Lydia to make fun of it and we were in love with Edward in like..10 minutes. Sonofa…

Here is the video…and it turns out he seems to be a protegee of Usher as Usher appears in the video so I wasn’t all that off…

At the end of the day…it was hysterical that Lydia and I had so much fun giggling at this (and really, the little kid is adorable…) :)

Finished a good husky walk this AM! Just me and Angelus since Storm is on light duty. We walked along 2 beaches for just about 2 hours. He got LOTS of sniffing and peeing on things in :) Got to say hi to a few dogs but pretty quiet out until the end of the walk (why I LOVE Sunday mornings – everyone ie either at church or hungover so it’s quiet :) )

Yesterday on our walk at Surfer’s Beach there was a huge school (or pod or herd – they all work – I looked it up!) of dolphins. So many that the area they were in and jumping in and out of the water was black. Then today, in almost the same area, there were tons of sea lions jumping in and out of the water and honking (they way they talk) and pelicans dive bombing the water. So obviously there are a bunch of fish out there creating it a yummy smorgasbord. Of course, this then creates it a cafeteria for Mr. Great White who likes to frequent NorCal coasts (they closed the water portion of the beach at Stinson Beach last week after 2 were spotted.)

But then maybe some of the jerk tourists who come and leave their trash on our beautiful beaches will venture into the water today and not be able to swim as fast as the seals… :) Here are a couple pics of the water but you can barely make out the seals (look for the little gray heads in the water!) There were so many jumping in and out but with a husky on an extendoleash and trying to get a good pic at the right moment was tough – especially with the just a phone camera.

Got home and took Stormy out for a short walk. His tail was waggin’! Husband left to go to Monterey so Storm was left home alone – he hates that. He was happy to go out, sniff stuff and pee on some trees. But he gets tired and hot quickly with his Cushing’s. Will be great for him to get on a medication that fixes that and he feels better. Although he will never enjoy long walks like his brother does. Angelus is a crazy outdoors maniac!

Now I’m home and time to make my todo list for the day. I have so many items that I want to get done flying through my head – we will see how much I can actually get done. Getting them in list form will be helpful. The sun looks like it is trying to break through the fog so if it does, I might have to break for some PTH (prime tanning hours.)

While I write my TODO, I have the GAC Top 20 Countdown on. I had CMT’s on yesterday am :) Pretty song I had not heard before by a group I have never heard of…”I Get That All The Time” by Due West:

Ok…list-making time….
