I blog about a WHOLE LOT of stuff :)

“South Korea acknowledged that it wants the right to hunt whales and may apply to the commission for a quota.”

I would like to the right to hunt South Koreans. And Japanese. And Norway. Oh, and Iceland. Sending in my application for a quota right now…

For the past couple months I have been eating small, pre-packaged salads that are between 260-310 calories for lunch. I don’t snack. Never have been much of a snacker. I generally make healthy dinners and only splurge when I go out to eat which isn’t often because I don’t want the extra calories. And I like easy lunches anyway.

It’s bikini season. I get it. It’s fine and I don’t hate it when I feel it is MY choice. I like to be thin. And feel thin. But if I feel someone thinks I’m fat, or needs to lose weight…well…you can exit the f*&%^*&# door pal. I do not need you.

Today I offered husband one of my salads as he was starving and didn’t have time to get lunch. I had an extra salad and I was being nice. He ate it.

We got home around 8:30 or so tonight and I started dinner as soon as we got home and I proceeded to do the million things I have to do. As I’m doing them, husband says “I like it when you get home earlier than I do and….” I stop and look at him, waiting for him to finish the sentence I know is stuck hanging there. He realizes his mistake and finishes “…then we get to eat earlier and hang out and watch TV or something.” I smile and say “don’t you mean I get home earlier and have dinner ready and waiting for you when you get home?” Umm…well…yeah…that is GREAT! he says. Fantasy punch one.

Dinner is almost ready. Husband says I am so starving. Those tiny salads aren’t enough food. I say welcome to my and Stormy’s world (Storm is always hungry!) He says well, it’s different for you. You shouldn’t be hungry. Again…stop what I’m doing…why is that I ask. Well…you are smaller than I am. And a girl. Yes to both of those I say but do you think that 300 calories is enough food for ANYONE to last all day long and not be starving well past dinner time??

Well…I don’t know he says. Fantasy punch 2.

He is so &^%#^@&@*@)@)frackin’ lucky I have some form of self control and haven’t smacked him in the head with a frying pan yet….

Maybe I’m too sensitive…but really? Now I am sitting here while I have another SVT episode/heart racing. I am definitely starting to see a stress correlation….

So, professors from these schools…

1.Department of Epidemiology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC, USA
2 Department of Nutrition, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC, USA
3 Department of Biostatistics, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC, USA
4 Department of Epidemiology, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA

…did a 6 year long study. And they came to the conclusion that if you sit on your ass and watch a lot of TV, you will probably get fat. And have bad-eating habits.

Ummm…I could have told them that without a 6-year long official (and probably pricey somehow) study. Seriously. You needed professors and research assistants and a focus group to come to this conclusion? You people need to get outside of the classroom/lab more. From the study:

“Background
Television (TV) watching is the most common leisure activity in the United States. Few studies of adults have described the relationship between TV and health behaviors such as physical activity, diet, and body weight status.

Conclusion:
The results from this analysis suggest that television exposure is associated with deleterious effects on physical activity, diet, and body weight status in adult participants of the ARIC cohort. Television exposure was associated cross-sectionally and prospectively with physical activity, diet and body weight. “

I see reports and news stories of studies being done on the most inane, ridiculous things quite often. But this? Really? And frankly, it’s not solely TVs fault. Every AM I am up and watch 1 hour show from my DVR. But I do it will doing my cardio on my stepper which is in front of the TV. So I get about 45 minutes of exercise (no watching commercials!) and blow through a TV show that I otherwise wouldn’t have time for. And I think plenty of people sit around and goof off playing video games, surfing the internet, etc. and they probably will get just as fat sitting there doing no exercise as the TV watchers. So again – this study was reeeally needed?

Along the same vein, this week I saw tweets about a t-shirt being sold at Urban Outfitters that some people on twitter/tumblr found funny (like me) and some found offensive. Ok. To each his/her own.

But what I find the most ridiculous is the reasoning behind the bulk of the “outrage” – that it promotes eating disorders. So…being told to “Eat Less” is a gateway to an eating disorder? Every week I see studies (again with the studies) that childhood obesity has reached crazy levels. Adult obesity is always on the rise. The government wants to put in laws telling us how much salt we are allowed to have on our food, or sugar sodas, or junk food at all.

Laws have been passed so that every restaurant has to label everything for calories, fat, etc etc. Because “we” (the people) can’t figure out that if something is super-sized, salty and has melted cheese on is that it might be highly caloric and make our own decision. And we all know that McDonald’s is responsible for making me pull in and eat there every single day and become a giant lard-ass.

So even with all of these things a goofy slogan of “Eat Less” on a t-shirt is evil? Why? It’s not a bad message. Can it be taken the wrong way by a neurotic person who already has a eating disorder? Sure – probably. But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad message. It means that person has issues they need to deal with anyway.

It is not bad. It doesn’t say “Starve Yourself”. It doesn’t say ‘Stick a finger down your throat, I did!!”. Or “Eat cotton if your hungry”. Simply says Eat Less. A good message…especially as you are about to get up off the couch to get a bag of chips before watching more TV like the people in the above study…

This morning was a foggy, wet mess outside. The buds don’t mind but I hate it. I was already a little stressed by 6am as Angelus didn’t run up to be let out in the front yard while I did my stepper before our walk. But he had a busy weekend so maybe just tired? He isn’t a spring chicken anymore, no matter how much he acts like one most of the time. He says to “when my age, you reach, look as good, you will not” :)

But when it was time for his walk, he was ready! And off into the Dagobah weather we went. Got to the harbor beach, where it was low tide, and let them off leash. There was NO one around. So dead quiet. We walked all the way out to where the tide/water line finally was and Angelus kept walking out into the water. You could tell he smelled something. Then *dunk* his head goes and I see him come up with what I know is a chicken leg all mixed up with fishing line and fishing hooks. The people that come out here to fish for crabs use it.

*Begin Rant*

I HATE THESE PEOPLE.

They leave their garbage on the rock wall (empty chicken plastic wrappers, cans, bottles, lunch/sandwich wrappers, cigarette butts, etc..) And even worse they leave their old bait/hooks. So dogs, birds, etc can get all messed up. I’ve rescued a seagull all tied up in the fish line. I’ve helped the Harbor Patrol guys unsnare a couple of them where a hook was caught in a wing or something.

All dogs are going to go for a chicken leg bone just sitting there. Which wouldn’t be the end of the world as they are raw. But it’s the fishing line and hooks that are all snarled up – that can kill a dog if swallowed. Or at least hurt if stuck in a lip, gum, etc. But god forbid these lazy pieces of crap take their garbage to the cans in 3 different places up the beach.

These people don’t even live here. They are not local residents. Not that it would excuse them if they were. But they deliberately drive over here, bringing their mess and irresponsibility, to our beautiful coast line and F it up.

I HATE THESE PEOPLE

*end rant*

Anyway – I yelled “drop it” and to my amazement he did…but then he picked it up again…it’s a chicken leg sitting right there…so I ran into the water about half-calf deep and took it out of his mouth before he got it done. I put him on leash and turn around and see that Storm has one too! I yell drop it and run towards him and he did drop it but stared at it like “oh man…it’s right there!” But I got to him and leashed him and pulled them out.

I kept them on leash for the rest of the beach time which likely annoyed them. And I was soaking wet almost up to my knees. And cold. And thinking to myself “Really Tuesday? It’s going to be like this?”

Grrr.

So this is my day so far. But I’m done eating my lunch now so will get back to work..and the rest of Tuesday…

But still…grrrr.

Home after a 2.5 hour Angelus beachfest. He had a pretty darn good time! Played and played with lots of dogs we’d come across and it was super low tide so good tide pools to cool off in. Then went over to the harbor beach and ran and played chase off-leash with a 2 year old black lab. He seems like he *might* be a little tired. At least for now.

He got cheesed on his walk yesterday as post-op Storm couldn’t go very far and I had to keep an eye on him. Like a good big brother, he was patient…for a day :) This morning he said RUFF! We took Storm out too but he only wanted to go a couple blocks so we brought him back. I could tell Angelus seemed bummed thinking that was going to be the extent of his walk like yesterday.

But as soon as I just let Storm inside and kept him out, he knew we were going for fun! He got his spring back in his step :)

Took him to Surfer’s beach. It is gloriously sunny and warm and super low-tide. So he had lots of tide pools to cool off in and it was early enough that the beach wasn’t crowded with tourists yet.

We walked to the point where dogs are no longer allowed (they are not allowed on State beaches because CA is a stupid reactionary state) and met another doggie who LOVED playing with Angelus. Angelus was  on leash and the other doggie was off but they were having a good time!

I have let him off leash there before (technically it is leash-only but the harbor patrol don’t care if you have good control) but there are a lot of ways off the beach and up to the bluffs and Highway 1 and that freaks me out too much so I don’t do that anymore.

Plenty of people do let their dogs run off leash and I’m all for your dogs having a fun time and think the no dogs allowed rule on the other beaches is stupid. BUT – if your dog is agro with other dogs or doesn’t listen to you, then he should be on leash. Not a big deal. But I’ve had a few instances where aggressive dogs run up to Angelus and start crap with him. Angelus never starts a fight. But he doesn’t back down from any dog. Not ever. So if a dog comes up to barking and teeth bared, he will respond.

Generally, I will put myself in the way. And have stuck my arm into a few scuffles. But no one is hurting my dog. Anyway, today I saw this brown pointer running willy nilly all over the beach and you couldn’t see who was with him. No person was around in the general area. Then Angelus started playing with his dog friend and I was talking to his owner as we walked down the beach. Then I saw up ahead the brown pointer again and he was chasing and barking at a little dog who was on leash as his people tried to get away.

Then he came charging at Angelus. Angelus just stopped and waited. At first the other doggie just stopped and sniffed. But then as we started to walk away, he growled, bared his teeth and tried to bite Angelus! And then Angelus turned and growled and that started the scuffle that I grabbed the other dog and pushed him back.

Then I see the dog’s owner come up (who had been calling the dog for a good 10 minutes, with NO response, as he bothered the little dog and then Angelus – clearly the dog saw him as pack leader and listened well…)

He then has the nerve to say to me after his dog attacked my dog “well, if your dog wasn’t on leash, my dog wouldn’t have done that.” Ummm…what did you just say? Yes – you are correct in that the leash creates anxiety. However, it’s usually the dog ON leash that has the anxiety and not the attacker!

And if this were a dog park where all dogs were off leash, or an off-leash dog beach, I could understand the annoyance of dealing with leashed dogs (I have it too).

BUT, to actually say out loud to someone whose dog was just attacked by your dog that it was basically their fault. When in fact the beach is technically leash mandatory anyway…wtf?

In my head I imagined a swift and hard kick to his man-parts. And then Angelus peeing on him as he writhed in pain on the ground. But luckily for him, I used my Jedi control and did not lead down the path to anger…(although really..sometimes it is justified.)

I tried to be calm. I said simply “well, this is technically a leash-only beach and my dog might take off up the beach.”

He says in response “well it’s not like he could go anywhere.” That was it.

I said “No, pal. This is a leash-only beach and I don’t care if your dog runs around having a good time but dogs shouldn’t be allowed off-leash if they don’t respect their owner/parent enough to listen when called. Or charge up to other dogs and bite them. Plus they can run up to the bluffs or Highway 1 at a number of spots. And considering your dog doesn’t listen to you AT ALL and was clear down at the other end of the beach with you nowhere in sight – you have nothing to say here except “I’m sorry”. It’s people like YOU that give dogs and dog owners a bad name and cause stupid laws to be enacted so we all can’t take our dogs places. Jackass.”

And Angelus and I walked away to go enjoy more tide pools and beach fun time…

Farmers vs. Lions: A Battle to the Death in Kenya:

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1989669,00.html

This story is sad. To me, this outlines yet another example that human over-population on this planet will destroy it long before space aliens, asteroids hurtling towards us, bad pop music or even the dreaded global warming.

A country of 40 million, where many are poor and starving, murdering some of the very creatures that make this planet so great is disgusting to me. No – I don’t want to hear what about them? Or they need to farm and eat. Or any other BS crap. Over-population. Period.  Humans are ruining the planet. Not the animals who are just trying to survive. Stop breeding people. Just fracking stop. Frankly, I just don’t care as much about human life since we/they are the ones who create these problems to begin with.  Yes, I know this makes me sound heartless. I’m not. But I think the world needs more lions, tigers and bears and less humans using up all of the planet’s resources.

And this happens in here is the US as well. And here – it’s more of a business situation. Ranchers have long killed wolves, to the point of near extinction, because a cow or a sheep is killed. Perhaps on a rare occasion that rancher’s existence depended on that 1 cow. But not too likely. Which is why Defenders of Wildlife did put in a program where they will compensate a rancher for lost livestock  due to a wolf so that they don’t kill them. By all reports, this program works. Market price for what you lost.

But you still have Idaho and Alaska that re-instituted wolf hunts based on lame-ass reasons. Those 2 states will never get 1 tourist dollar from me while hunting wolves or bears is still allowed. And no – I do not blame Sarah Palin for that. Sorry. That was in place in AK before she was elected AND voted on by the voters of Alaska. She is simply an easy target for the animal welfare groups (who I do generally support but disagree with on these campaigns.) Not to say she doesn’t support the plan as well or that I like her. Just not going to paint her as the first or only villain in this atrocity. That’s just stupid.

The world needs more beauty. Humans can create beauty. But quite a lot of them create nothing but chaos and ugliness.  These lions, and all other living things on this planet, deserve a better keeper of this home than humans can seem to provide…

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100424/ap_on_re_us/us_immigration_enforcement

I haven’t read too much about this law other than a couple news articles, but this makes me go huh?:

“The legislation, sent to the Republican governor by the GOP-led Legislature, makes it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally. It also requires local police officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants; allows lawsuits against government agencies that hinder enforcement of immigration laws; and makes it illegal to hire illegal immigrants for day labor or knowingly transport them.”

So, a bill needed to be enacted that makes it a crime to be in the country illegally. Umm…? Isn’t it already a crime when it’s illegal?

And there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with anything they are trying to do here. In my opinion.

The Federal government has long dragged its heels in doing anything about a real problem that exists. Is this the right answer? I don’t know. I don’t live on the border in Arizona and have it effect my life on a daily basis. But here in California, we do have plenty. And in SoCal it’s a lot bigger problem. And since a majority of the people that do live there (in AZ) and deal with it daily want something done, it’s the State’s right, and responsibility, to do something.

And this:

“It’s going to change our lives,” said Emilio Almodovar, a 13-year-old American citizen from Phoenix. “We can’t walk to school any more. We can’t be in the streets anymore without the pigs thinking we’re illegal immigrants.”

Guess what you little brat? Thinking like that causes huge problems too. I don’t think a majority of the people who complain about immigration complain about the nice, quiet family down the street who just don’t have green cards. They are complaining about thugs, hoodlums, welfare cases, etc.  So calling the police pigs leads me to believe you have done something illegal already – so you should just be sent to boot camp now.

I have no idea what the intricacies of the law are. I have no idea if this will solve any problems. But something has to be done about the volume of illegal immigration. And it’s very easy to live up North or in the East where you don’t have to deal with this as much and say how it’s unfair, illegal, unconstitutional, hate-mongering, racial profiling, wrong, etc, etc, etc, when YOU don’t have to deal with it in your yard.

I’m very much for making this a priority. Something has to be done to control immigration and legal entry/stays in this country. That shouldn’t be a dirty word or unthinkable.  If you come enter this country illegally, you are committing a crime. That seems very black and white to me. Will it be easy to tackle and fix? I’m sure not by a long shot. And it will not please everyone. But nothing does.  But someone has to start.

Just sayin...

http://cbs2.com/local/infant.attacked.dog.2.1622472.html

Every single thing about this story pisses me off. This dumb bitch already had 2 kids taken away by Child Protective Services so she just went ahead and popped out another. Clearly she already deserved Mother of the Year so why not.

The dogs should not be euthanized. Probably taken away from owner, but my guess is this wasn’t “an attack” so much as the dogs playing with the baby that was down on their own level. When I sit on the floor with my dogs, who are so far away from savage with people my Beware of Dog sign outside is a joke, they will rough house with me. When you get down on the same level as dogs, this happens. But expecting these stupid skanks to know that is a too much to ask, I know.

So why the hell did you leave your baby sleeping in his bucket, with no adult monitoring at all? On the floor, in the other room from where you were. Oh right, your Mother of the Year qualities.

And this line from the CPS chick:  “I think what we try to do is be reasonable. Because people make mistakes,” Deporto said.

Ummm…she apparently makes a LOT of mistakes if she has already lost 2 kids. So what does she need to do to have it deemed criminal/negligence and not a “mistake”? Set the kids on fire? Sell them to pedophiles?

We need a damn license or permit for every damn thing in the world. But not parenthood. All sorts of assclowns can keep breeding and then we get more of these stories. Awesome.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/NY-court-revives-Tiffanys-apf-387846777.html?x=0&.v=2

I think TIF should take this to the Supreme Court. eBay knows damn well that so much of the designer items sold on their site are actually counterfeits. LVMH had huge issues with eBay and people selling fake LV bags there. Do a search for North Face, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Tiffany, Coach, Rock & Republic, True Religion, and any expensive purse line and what you get back in your search is 90% fakes. Heck – there used to be so many fake Beanie Baby auctions back when they were a huge craze, my bet is the market was saturated with more fakes than real ones.

The obvious ones are the auctions actually listing themselves in China. If you are dumb enough to buy your typically $1500 LV bag for $250 from China…well…fool…money…parted…

Also, auctions listed as being in Brooklyn and LA – don’t bid. Likely fake.

I feel that if eBay is making money off the sellers for selling their fakes, and advertising that they have all these brands for sale on their site, and they show up in search results, then they have some responsibility to make sure what they are offering is authentic.

eBay wants to market themselves as more of an Amazon or online marketplace and not just a junk-filled online flea market. They are really trying to make a push into fashion. Well – then you need to be more responsible. You can bet if Amazon, Saks or Neiman Marcus sold a fake it would be their problem to address.

Their often-issued argument that they allow the companies to patrol their site and request auctions to be shut down it BS. YOU (eBay) are making money off of items being sold by people on your site. And also through your Paypal fees when they sellers receive their payments. But you want ME (the company) to hire/pay someone to monitor your site to make sure you aren’t facilitating selling fakes??

Wrong. If you offered the eBay selling platform for free and made no money off of it – then fine. I can see that argument. But you do not. So step up and deal with the fact that you offer a huge platform for counterfeit sales. As the platform/facilitator it IS your problem.

This was blogged by Robert A. Hall. A former Marine Vietnam Vet and 5-term Massachusetts State Senator. I am not 63 but I agree with his tiredness of what has been allowed in this country. Frankly, it’s sickening to me…

This blog post of his was posted in February 2009. You can find his blog at: http://tartanmarine.blogspot.com/ Do I agree with everything he says? No. But I don’t agree with everything anyone says (except maybe Chewbacca.) But this…this I agree with….

“I’ll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce, and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I’ve worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven’t called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn’t inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there’s no retirement in sight, and I’m tired. Very tired.

I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth around” to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.

I’m tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to “keep people in their homes.” Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I’m willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the leftwing Congresscritters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them—with their own money.

I’m tired of being told how bad America is by leftwing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the religious freedom and women’s rights of Saudi Arabia, the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Gay people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela. Won’t multiculturalism be beautiful?

I’m tired of being told that Islam is a “Religion of Peace,” when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family “honor;” of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren’t “believers;” of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for “adultery;” of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur’an and Shari’a law tells them to.

I believe “a man should be judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin.” I’m tired of being told that “race doesn’t matter” in the post-racial world of President Obama, when it’s all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of US Senators from Illinois. I think it’s very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less in an all-knowing government.

I’m tired of a news media that thinks Bush’s fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama’s, at triple the cost, were wonderful. That thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress, that picked over every line of Bush’s military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his, that slammed Palin with two years as governor for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever.

Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn’t vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

I’m tired of being told that out of “tolerance for other cultures” we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America, while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.

I’m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore’s, and if you’re greener than Gore, you’re green enough.

I’m tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don’t think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I’m tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

I’m tired of illegal aliens being called “undocumented workers,” especially the ones who aren’t working, but are living on welfare or crime. What’s next? Calling drug dealers, “Undocumented Pharmacists”? And, no, I’m not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic and it’s been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I’m willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person who can speak English, doesn’t have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military. Those are the citizens we need.

I’m tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people then themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years—and still are? Not even close. So here’s the deal. I’ll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we’ll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

I’m tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers—bums are bi-partisan. And I’m tired of people telling me we need bi-partisanship. I live in Illinois, where the “Illinois Combine” of Democrats and Republicans has worked together harmoniously to loot the public for years. And I notice that the tax cheats in Obama’s cabinet are bi-partisan as well.

I’m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Speaking of poor, I’m tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn’t have that in 1970, but we didn’t know we were “poor.” The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

I’m real tired of people who don’t take responsibility for their lives and actions. I’m tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I’m damn tired. But I’m also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I’m not going to get to see the world these people are making. I’m just sorry for my granddaughter.”
