I blog about a WHOLE LOT of stuff :)

This is a very cute shoe….

I have more than 1 outfit these would be perfect for. I am waiting to see if any of the wait-listed shoes I signed up for at the Rock & Republic sale today go through. Probably not :( Totally not fair by the way since I was on that site at exactly the second the sale started. Boo :(

These might make me feel better though ;)

I’ve been wanting a pink Chanel flap since I was about 20ish? But I always scoffed at the price for a purse. It is absolutely ridiculous. I actually still believe this but sometimes you have to do ridiculous things :)

My husband would blow out a few brain cells if I paid this much for a purse. Well…pretty much anything really. But sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do. And I know he would never buy something like this for me as a gift. So it will need to be a gift to myself! And he can spend his money on surf boards and Porsches.

I doubt most men would though. Unless they are wealthy enough that the cost of this is comparable to buying a $100 item. Men just cannot lay out the $$$ for things they don’t understand. They just don’t understand that women like pretty things. This is why he has such a hard time buying jewelry for me. He sees it as a waste of money. I pointed out that jewelry is like boobs. I don’t understand the male fascination with boobs but it’s there. Men don’t understand girls’ fascination with sparkly things. But it’s there. So imagine the horror about spending so much on a purse! “You can buy a perfectly acceptable purse at Nordstrom or The Gap for like $50!” Sure I *could*. And then I point out that he is not a professional surfer and does not need 6 surf boards collecting dust in the garage….

But I do understand it’s ridiculousness. It is *just* a purse. And there are many other useful things to spend money like that on. But if you went through life thinking that way all the time with no indulgences, well….you would be Scrooge McDuck.

Back to the house that Coco built…They sell out of these bags in the Chanel boutiques every year. And buying them on the secondary market is hard since the Chinese have perfected the fake. And even if you find an excellent used one, it’s still in the thousands of dollars price range. Which is now my argument FOR the purchase instead of against it. It goes UP in value, so it’s like an investment. Like buying gold coins or stock in a blue chip company. The retail pricing has consistently gone up over the years. And you can always sell it on the secondary market if you want to.

And really, this bag is a classic that you will keep forever. Sure, I should probably invest in black if I were to buy one. But that’s just not me. The black is very pretty and if I could have 2, I would get one in black. But my first will be in pink.

There are different shades of pink depending on the year. The baby pink is my absolute favorite but very hard to find as it’s from a few years ago. The rose is also very nice and that is easier to find right now. When I went to the Chanel store in The Wynn in Vegas, they were sold out. They had the jersey one in a light orchid color but that was the only color in this style they had in stock. Boo :( I should go up to the store in SF and see what they have but my guess is not much more. This one is very rare and GREAT shades of pink:

le sigh...

Just not sure if it’s too big. It is the classic 2.55. I *think* I want the bag 1 size smaller than this one. BUT…maybe not. They did not make this color in the smaller bag so maybe I’d give up the smaller size for this most perfect color. And it’s not like it’s a huge hobo or anything!

I’ve been checking eBay (you can get them authenticated by The Purse Forum with good pictures) and Portero. You can’t buy Chanel retail online. They don’t sell online and don’t allow the stores that carry them to sell them online. So if you can’t find one in a boutique, you are limited to the secondary market. Which is OK actually. If you find one in pristine condition, it’s like buying a car a year or 2 old. The person who paid sticker took the off-the-lot hit for you but you are still getting a great car :)

Maybe one day I will pull the trigger :)

I am liking this bag as a summer bag for dresses but also beach/pool days! It’s big enough to throw in my Kindle, sunglasses with case, sunscreen and flip flops.

And *perfect* color combo for a summer bag. The thick white (or yellow!)  braided leather is a nice contrast to the straw look. I am not really a fan of straw bags that look like you bought them at the drug store or by the side of the road in Mexico. This fixes that with the braided leather and gold hardware.

Liking it very much….hmmm…

Michael Kors Braided Grommet Straw Shoulder Tote

Or with yellow??

I clearly need to go to more fancy events if I ever wanted to invest in a Judith Leiber bag. I look at them more like art and not utility. I would love to have a Faberge egg so maybe one of her bags could substitute :)

This is one of her newest. It’s not the cupcake I covet SOOO badly but it’s pretty.

Adorned with hand-placed multicolored crystals and featuring a birdcage design, Judith Leiber’s hand-painted clutch is simply exquisite. Carry it by the gold-tone top ring or optional chain handle to embellish an evening gown with Park Avenue glamour.

I am just missing the reason to wear an evening gown to show off my Park Avenue glamour :)

Very, very cute. The YAHOO! targeted ads are quite scary how good they are sometimes. I guess they assume if you are looking at Yahoo! Finance, you have gobs of money to spend at Bergdorf…silly ad generators…

Lanvin at ShopStyle

Plus this bag is considered an “IT” bag this season. La-de-dah :) Very gorgeous. But still need to save my pennies for my Chanel :)

Good for them that they don’t treat the models like meat and look for a) well-behaved girls and b) support them creating something to do for a living rather than only standing around looking pretty. Because there is always someone else prettier…

And while I have no problem with Victoria’s Secret, their models and actually like some of their lines, I have been straining to find the “curvier” ones…

“Victoria’s Secret has bucked another trend: Using bony, size-zero models. “The women are curvy and beautiful and healthy, and there’s a movement [in the fashion world] to exude that,” says Ivan Bart, senior vice president and managing director of IMG Models Worldwide, which reps or has represented many of the brand’s models. Indeed, the Victoria’s Secret “Angels” made a surprise appearance at the Paris and Milan winter fashion shows, as designers like Miuccia Prada and Marc Jacobs paid tribute to their “curvier” bodies.”

Do you see the curvier one?

I get that they aren’t the size 00 runway models used in most couture shows but I think using the term curvy isn’t actually too factual. Yes – they have some busts (helped by some padding or boob jobs) and hips (when compared to the 15-yr olds typically used in fashion print ads and shows) but come on….it actually made me laugh out loud. And the reason they have to use “curvy” girls is because lingerie and swimsuit models can’t be bony and emaciated – looks gross. Throw a dress on the bones and they look fine and will be hired, but not the unmentionables.

Although at least they didn’t say “more realistic womens’ bodies” or “bodies like most women”. Because then I’d still be laughing…uncontrollably…

I LOVE this shoe!! What a GREAT color.

I do not know why but I am soooo addicted to pink. But some shades pop more than others to me and this is a great one.

I am just wondering if I take the dogs outside during the day in these, will I have enough balance ;)

And this is the little bitty Olsen twins brand. Who knew?!

I used to read the news while I ate a quick lunch at my desk. Years of working at a hedge fund instilled a never-leave-the-office-during-market-hours mentality. And even though I can now if I really want, it’s highly unusual.

But then I realized I got so annoyed/angered/upset by the news I moved on to celeb gossip. Keep it light and entertaining. I stopped that when I realized all of the people you end up reading about are useless pieces of space on earth who aren’t actors or celebrities I cared about but instead reality TV stars or people that are famous just for being famous…for no good reason at all. So now I stick with Wall Street/stock stuff or fashion. Either way…lunchtime can get real expensive ;)

Today I ran across a new Stella McCartney bag. I love her Dad tons so I often look at her stuff but have never been particularly wowed by anything – certainly not at the price point.  And while I certainly applaud her convictions to not use leather (and obviously fur like most other couture designers) , I can’t imagine ever wanting this or using it. Especially for over $2000!

Stella McCartney Wooden Accordion Clutch

I’m just trying to understand/come up with the usefulness of this bag…puzzled for sure…it’s different so that’s nice if you are looking for different.  I’ve personally never had a button on having to be different. I like what I like. If it’s different – cool. If it’s mass market – cool.  Only matters to me that I like it.

But this is…odd. I mean…what about my pink lipgloss? Or a key? Or husky treats?! Although I guess that might prevent Storm from eating *through* it to get the treat and he would just eat IT :)

…and a non-fat, no-carb, 0-calorie one can be even better…

My new Tiffany cupcake

Any girl can feel a little like Holly Golightly (or even better like Audrey) by just walking in the doors…I really *am* such a cliche.

I do not need another bag…I do not need another bag…I have bought a few cute ones recently and do not need another bag…

BUT if I did…man this is cute in a “totally wacky different yet coolio” kinda way…

Versace-Block-Color-Python-Bag

It’s also ridiculously priced. But sure is cute…a pair of jeans, cute white tank top, tan arms, some awesomely high heels and this bag would be a GREAT outfit! Sigh…

Of course, this one is still wanted and is less (barely) expensive…

Dolce&Gabbana Crayola

Do like that one…but no…I don’t need another bag…I don’t need another bag…

But shhh….I did recently get this…

Chloe Silverado in bubblegum pink!

A Chloe….a coveted Chloe Silverado…and it’s in bubblegum pink. With lighter pink satin ribbon intertwined in it’s stitching. Need I say more? No…I don’t think I do…
